Grinders Above & Beyond of Alliance is a family restaurant that stands out for its delightful casual dining experience. Nestled at 1820 W State St, this gem is celebrated for its extensive menu that expertly balances affordability and quality. Customer reviews highlight their delicious offerings, with soups and sandwiches taking center stage. Kevin Maher emphasizes the necessity of trying their baked sandwiches, which elevate the flavors significantly.
The diverse menu includes mouthwatering meatball subs and freshly prepared seafood, like Faroe Island salmon and battered Icelandic cod, praised by Shaya Moss for their incredible taste. The restaurant is not just limited to sandwiches; customers rave about starters, burgers, and delectable desserts that complete the dining experience. Special mention goes to the attentive staff, who provide excellent recommendations, making each visit memorable.
Despite the glowing reviews, some diners, like Kevin, express a desire for a broader menu range, envisioning Grinders transforming from a sandwich shop into a more comprehensive diner. This slight critique, however, does little to overshadow the consistent quality of the food and the friendly service that keeps patrons returning. Whether it’s a late lunch or a casual dinner, Grinders Above & Beyond promises a satisfying meal that pleases every palate.

This has become one of my favorite places for casual dining in the area. Prices are still reasonable, which is near impossible to find in a restaurant now days, so that's a great start. From there, the food takes over. Try a soup, any soup, and you won't be disappointed. It's ultimately a sandwich shop, so you can't go wrong there, either. They can heat any sandwich you order, and it improves it drastically, so make sure you get it baked. Honestly, everything is great (starters, burgers, sides, etc.) - I've tried so many things and can't find a fault in anything that's on their menu. Their desserts are amazing, as well. If you don't know what to order, the staff will give you great recommendations. If I had one complaint, it's that I wish there were a LITTLE more variety on the menu. I feel as if they could evolve more from "sandwich place" to general diner if they could get a few more options on the menu.

Late lunch, early dinner at Grinders. As always 5 star experience! Food was delicious and hot. Faroe Island Salmon and Battered Icelandic Cod had amazing flavor. Meatball sub and aviators choice were made to perfection. Highly recommend!!!

Always great food and staff. Just wish they'd bring back the fried pickles. Also love the addition they put on.

Thank you to staff and manager Stephanie. I ordered carryout at 8:15 not realizing the restaurant closed at 8:30. Everyone was pleasant and food was hot and delicious.

Visited Grinders for the first time. Loved the ambiance. My Key West salad was so tasty and refreshing. My husband loved his cheeseburger. The Strawberry Shortcake was creamy and delish. It's super clean and nice waitresses.

5 stars, but you guys should change your pot roast. Too basic. Good meat but disappointing.

Went there for quick dinner before a high school football. Great atmosphere, prompt friendly service, good food. Loved the pot roast. The real treat was piece of cake we got to go. After the game we returned to our hotel and found both cakes were great
